Nothing Famous is one of the best local bands I've ever heard, which is why I was excited when they asked me to release their CD. In a sea of radio friendly psuedo punk, Nothing Famous is a refreshing change. Their songs have a pop sound to them but still maintain an edge. Their sound is like a combination of their influences; a little Screeching Weasel, a little Dillinger Four, a little Kid Dynamite, and a little Jawbreaker. All their songs are chock full of fast guitar parts, complicated basslines, incredible drumming, and intelligent lyrics.

The Prozacs, formed in September of 2001, are a Western Massachusetts
pop-punk band kicking out tunes with a similar style to the Ramones, Screeching
Weasel, and The Queers. Comprised of
Jay on guitar/vocals, Adam on bass and
Jimmy Craig on drums. The members bring with them the
experience of three national and one Canadian tour, as well as countless
shows and record releases. Look for their EP "Monsters Night Out", live

The Budgets

The Budgets are a street punk band from Buffalo, NY who are a recent addition
to the Cheapskate Records roster. I was thrilled when I received their demo in
the mail because I had been looking for a band like them for a long time. A
band that had a hard edge to their sound but were still able to maintain
flowing melodies. Plus their work ethic is superb, they plan to tour for a year
straight and hit up every major city in the U.S. When The Budgets come to

Sonny (or Plan B as they used to be called) hail from western Mass
and play emotionally charged pop-punk. I first met their guitarist,
Joe, when The Grandprixx came to Schenectady to play a show. Joe
and I talked about his band and how he was looking for a label to
release their first CD. I was totally interested but I had to hear the
band first. As soon as I heard what they sounded like I jumped at the
chance to put out their record. Soon after the release of "Picturesque"
they were courted by Fast Music which is where they remain today.
They are a really good band and should definitly be checked out.
